CHIANGMAI.

Chiang Mai: Thailands second city, is more than 700 km northwest of Bangkok, the old walled city is the norths largest city over 700 years old, the cities moats and magnificent temples, are the centre of tourism in north Thailand Chiang Mai famous for its Lanna-style architecture, friendly people, beautiful women, refined handicrafts, cool climate and stunning mountain scenery.


Chiang Mai International Airport: The major gateway to the scenic beauty and rich culture of Northern Thailand, with over a hundred flights a week from Bangkok plus international flights from China, Taiwan, Singapore, Myanmar and Laos, over two million visitors a year pass through it, the city centre is only a ten minute ride by taxi, the majority of hotels are the same distance and can be booked on arrival from one of the travel agents located at the airport.

Doi_Inthanon_ Nationa_ Park

Doi Inthanon National Park.


If you like getting close to nature visit Doi Inthanon National Park, over 1000 square kilometers of unspoit beautity located 60 kilometers south of Chiang Mai.

Home of Thailands tallest mountain, Doi Inthanon standing at over 2,500 meters, the trek to the peak offers visitors stunning views of the province.

Plummeting waterfalls, variety of bird life, tropical flowers and plants, provides excellent trekking opportunities, bungalows and log cabins can be rented in the park at two different locations.

Ob Luang National Park.
Located about 110 kilometers south of Chiang Mai, nature trails, stunning waterfalls, one of its main attractions are the Thep Panom, hot springs and Tong Cave.

Sri Lanna National Park.
On the Chiang Mai - Prao road, nature trails and wildlife also home of the Mae Ngud reservoir where you can stay over night in one of the floating houses.

Huay Haam Dang National Park.
Part of the Chiag Dao mountain range, lush forest, hot springs and nature trails, for the adventurous, river rafting and canoeing on the rivers.

Doi Suthep Pui National Park.
Just a short distance outside Chiang Mai, the home of Wat Prathart Doi, one of Thailands most revered Buddhist temples and the Bhuping Palace, the Royal Familys winter residence.

Getting To Chiang Mai:

Air Travel: Bangkoks Suwanabhumi Airport, and Don Muang Airport, offer plenty of dally flights to Chiang Mai, flights are also available from most of Thailands Domestic airports, one way tickets cost between 900 and 1700 baht depending airline and the time of day you travel, the journey takes just over a hour.


Train: Thailands Railway Services, are quiet punctual, a safe and comfortable covenant way to travel, night trains between Bangkok and Chiang Mai are very popular with tourists and Thais alike, always busy the journey takes between 12 to 15 hours, you need to purchase your ticket 3 to 4 days in advance particularly during Thai Public holidays, cost depends on the service you choose, tickets start at around 300 Baht.


Buses: Thailands Bus Network Services, is an inexpensive way to travel Thailand, Buses run from almost every city, town in Thailand to Chiang Mai, from Bangkok to Chiang Mai they run mostly overnight, the journey takes approx 10 hours.

Hotels & Accommodation: Budget Hotels and guest houses, start between 400 – 500 Baht a night, mid range family hotels depending on the amenities between 1200 – 3000 Baht a night, High range world renown Hotels between 5000 - 8000 Baht a night. Luxury Spa Hotel Resorts, depending on the services required can cost over 12,000 Baht a night, prices can vary in high season, on Thai public holidays low to mid range hotels need to be booked well in advance.

Organized Tours: Thailands TAT registered Travel agents have an endless list on tours to Chiang Mai great for families, as they will tailor the tour around your needs, there nothing better than having a mini bus waiting for you at Chiang Mai International Airport, after one or two nights stay in Chiang Mai exploring the city, set out to explore Northern Thailand.
